Aglaonema: The 65 species of the genus Aglaonema are native to the South-eastern Asia. Most of the house plants are cultivars. The genus belongs to the subfamily Aroideae, tribe Aglaonemataceae.
Chinese evergreen: The well-known "Chinese evergreen" is evergreen but mostly not Chinese. These indoor plants have been valued primarily for their durability. Thanks to the work of plant breeders in Indonesia and Thailand, we now have a range of luscious new colors, such as red, pink, orange, and exciting combinations.
